Editorial Standards
How EP Tech Hub approaches educational content, evidence, authorship, review, updates, corrections, conflicts of interest, and responsible use of AI.
Our Purpose
EP Tech Hub publishes educational material for cardiovascular and electrophysiology technologists and other allied professionals interested in EP technology. Our goal is to make complex concepts easier to understand while encouraging critical thinking, continued learning, and responsible technology adoption.
1. Evidence & Sources
When an article makes scientific, technical, or clinical claims, EP Tech Hub aims to support those claims with credible sources. Priority is given, when appropriate, to professional society guidance, peer-reviewed literature, regulatory agencies, academic institutions, and official manufacturer documentation.
Sources should be clearly identified so readers can explore the original material and evaluate the evidence themselves.
2. Authorship
Articles should identify their author whenever possible. Author biographies may include relevant professional roles, education, experience, or areas of interest, but EP Tech Hub avoids presenting credentials or expertise in a misleading way.
3. Review Status
Educational content may be author-reviewed, editorially reviewed, or reviewed by an appropriately qualified external professional. When external clinical or technical review occurs, the review status should be clearly identified. Content that has not undergone external expert review should not imply that it has.
4. Publication & Update Dates
Articles should display an original publication date and, when materially revised, a last-updated date. EP technology changes rapidly, so older content may be reviewed and updated as evidence, devices, workflows, or professional guidance evolve.
5. Corrections
If a meaningful factual or technical error is identified, EP Tech Hub aims to correct it promptly. Material corrections should be transparent when the change could affect how readers understand the topic.
6. Conflicts of Interest & Sponsorship
Relevant financial relationships, sponsorships, free products, paid collaborations, or other potential conflicts should be disclosed when they relate to published content. Sponsored content should be clearly labeled and should not be presented as independent editorial material.
7. Manufacturer & Product References
EP Tech Hub may discuss commercially available technologies for educational purposes. Mention of a company, device, mapping system, catheter, software platform, or other product does not by itself constitute endorsement. Readers should consult current manufacturer instructions for use and institutional policies for operational guidance.
8. Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence
AI tools may be used to assist with activities such as brainstorming, organization, editing, formatting, or research support. AI-generated output should not be treated as an authoritative clinical source. Material claims should be checked against appropriate primary or authoritative references before publication.
EP Tech Hub aims to maintain meaningful human oversight of published content and will not knowingly use AI to fabricate citations, credentials, clinical evidence, or professional review.
9. Patient Privacy
EP Tech Hub does not intend to publish identifiable patient information. Educational examples should be generalized, fictionalized, appropriately de-identified, or used with suitable permission when applicable. Content should never replace an institution's privacy, compliance, or research requirements.
10. Educational Independence
EP Tech Hub is an independent educational project. Unless explicitly disclosed, it is not affiliated with or endorsed by any hospital, medical-device manufacturer, professional society, or healthcare organization.
